Hey folks, It's been a minute!
So a lot's happened since I last posted – actually, since I released ‘Truth’, haha!
We're five singles in now since I last updated:
- Truth
- Big Ideas
- It's All For You
- The Chase
- It's Not Easy
Can you believe it? Single number 5, ‘It’s Not Easy', just released last week! And we're well on our way to finishing the album. It was almost finished, minus getting the remaining tracks mastered for release. But, after some chatting with Neil Brock (producer) at The Crypt Studios a week or so ago and looking over the tracklist… I had a new song burning in my back pocket and 10 tracks felt like a good spot to get the album to. This unknown, unplayed track still needs to be finished, produced, recorded and everything really - a half-finished song just sitting there to bridge the sound we want. I only budgeted for the tracks we had planned, but we'll figure that out…
So, the album will be a little longer - both in play-time and release-time. However, that does mean the release plan has changed a bit and it can only mean… MORE SINGLE RELEASES! YES!
Abbey Road Studios
Both Neil and I did a sit-in session with Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios which was so awesome! It was amazing to actually get to visit the studios and watch Miles at work on some of the tracks we brought along. It's one thing writing songs, but actually experiencing the process it takes to get them release-ready is another thing entirely and it made me feel so much more connected to what I have been making for you guys.

It's definitely a skill and art to master tracks correctly and the kit there to do it… Wow *chef's kiss* pretty immense stuff! It's crazy how much of a difference to overall sound it makes. I mean… I knew that, but I don't think I experienced it.
I'm glad we took the tracks to Abbey Road though, I think they deserve that. If I've come this far and put this much in, then why not give them some of the best treatment they can have, right?
What's next?
Well, as I said, I'll be releasing some more singles before the album drops. Make sure to stay tuned for that. I'd really love to get back out and gigging, I'll definitely be warming up at some open mics and getting out there. I'd really love to get a full band gig together and something I'd ideally get organised for the album launch.
At the moment, I'm giving 'It's Not Easy' all the love it deserves. It's a really important song in the album and definitely a favourite amongst all of us that have worked on it. It stands for a lot. If you know me in any capacity, I'm a huge advocate for pursuing what makes you happy, what gives you love, what you're passionate about and staying authentic to yourself. Something I struggled to do for a very long time, living in my own shadow and putting my passion on the back burner. Don't let life force you to look at it and regret what you haven't done for yourself - get out there and go enjoy it. As far as we know, we only get one (life).

I'll try and be a little better at keeping up on the blog posts as we progress towards an album launch! Gets a little crazy juggling a full-time job and fitting everything in.
