Bio
Singer / Songwriter
East London, UK
Rory Wilkinson crafts melancholic, heart-felt tales, pep talks and memoirs, penned mostly from the perspective of different aspects of himself, his emotions, vices and places in his life. Multi-instrumental and talented he delivers his thoughts via a powerful and soulful voice in a raw, indie, bluesy style.
Despite being born in Essex initially, Rory moved to Scotland in his formative years before returning to East London - dropping his strong Dundonian accent. Between growing up with a myriad of influences like Nina Simone, The Beatles, Radiohead, The Pixies, Bob Dylan, midwestern 90s emo, and the slight touches of his former accent, he has developed a unique voice of his own.
Rory set out in 2022 to pursue music as a solo artist following a break-up from a long-term relationship. Performing under his own name for the first time in Dalston, London, Rory debuted at an open mic night with friend and local radio-host Jo Bailey. Since then, Rory has performed at festivals in London at iconic places such like Trafalgar Square (St-Martin-In-The-Fields), hosted his own EP launch gig "Rory's Stories" at a venue in Dalston with support from fellow artists for his first EP release, as well as having played in several venues across London.
Rory's latest self-produced, acoustic b-side, 'Truth' from his upcoming EP is now available on all major streaming platforms, with the single following its release February 28th 2025.
Rory is currently working on a new EP with single releases planned throughout the year, so stayed tuned!
